Our Religious Education program assists parents and guardians, the first teachers of their children in passing on the richness of our Catholic Faith by accompanying them as they grow in their relationship with Christ and are formed as disciples within his Church.    

 

There is a two-year preparation process to receive First Holy Communion (as required by the Archdiocese of Hartford). Children must be at least in 2nd Grade to begin their first year of sacramental preparation.

 

Teens must be at least in 9th Grade to begin their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation or be 14 years old and this is also a two-year preparation process (as required by the Archdiocese of Hartford).

 

Registrations will take place in our Faith Formation Center (former St. Louis School), 89 Bull Hill Ln, West Haven beginning Sunday, August 20, 27 and September 10, 2023 after Masses.  Baptism certificates are required for new students at the time of registration and payment of the $40 registration fee per student for all programs.  Electronic payments can also be made below by clicking the online giving link.

Our classes are once a week:

First Communion & Continuing Education classes (K-8th)

Your choice: Sundays 9:00 am to 10:00 am or 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Classes begin September 17, 2023

 

Confirmation 1st Year (9th grade)

on Tuesdays 7 pm to 8 pm

Classes begin September 19, 2023

 

Confirmation 2nd Year (10th grade)

on Wednesdays 7 pm to 8 pm

Classes begin September 13, 2023
